One cannot buy happiness but one can totally buy serotonin-inducing social media follow notifications. We all know that Instagram has a huge user base that consumes content put up by the celebs.
The celebrities are constantly judged and tracked by fans to get the highest number of likes and followers. They get a lot of hearts from their fans.
Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra appear on the list of those celebrities who have maximum numbers of fake followers or ‘bots’ on Instagram.
Analysis Conducted by the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance:
Currently, Deepika Padukone has 37.9 million followers on Instagram and she is on the sixth spot on the list with a massive 48% of fake followers.

Whereas Priyanka Chopra Jonas has currently 43.6 million followers on Instagram and she is on the tenth spot with 46% of fake followers.

Appearing at the top of the list, Ellen DeGeneres has 58% of fake followers on Instagram, followed by boy-band BTS with 48%.
In third place, it’s KourtneyKardashianwith 49% whereas Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian both have 44% fake followers onInstagram.
Kourtney Kardashian and Pop star Taylor Swift have 49% fake followers. Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus are also included in the list.

- Kourtney Kardashian – 46%

- Ariana Grande– 46%

In a statement, the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance said:
“To make our list of celebrities, we took some ‘most successful’ and ‘most followed’. Then, we filtered this by the number of followers to give ourselves a top 100 most followed list.”
The obsession with a number of followers:
as you can see on the list, Bollywood celebrities are not the only ones to be obsessed with the number of followers they have. They are paid a gigantic amount for shutouts (promoting a product). They charge this hectic amount of money only because they have a huge number of followers.
To get more and more followers, they have to win this race even if they have to “buy” the followers. The recent report shows how a gigantic number of well-known celebrities is fake.
